Born in 1985 in Chattanooga, TN, Stephen's interest in art began in late 2005.
After a few years honing his skills in graphic design, he decided to try his hand
at fine art, and instantly loved it. Though many of the principles are consistent
in both mediums, such as composition, values, and color; there are also
many differences.

He began to realize that he had been given a great responsibility to share
with the viewer the unique way he saw his subjects. And it is this responsibility
that drives him to learn as much as he can, as quickly as he can. Stephen has been
studying modern masters such as Nicolai Fechin, Antonio Mancini, and John Singer Sargent,
and especially the living master Richard Schmid.

He has recently been selected finalist in both the Artist's Magazine and
American Artist Magazine's annual portrait competitions.
